Subsea Isolation Valve (SSIV)
Our subsea isolation valve (SSIV) is a safety barrier to shutdown the subsea line in case of need.
The main purpose of an SSIV is to protect the platform from the unintended release of fluids. It is designed to close in case of activation of the emergency shutdown (ESD) system, in order to be fail safe. The SSIV is usually installed as a standalone module. Normally it includes a subsea isolation ball valve with actuator, in series with a subsea check valve or a subsea manual ball valve. The valve actuator is normally retrievable. It can be supplied complete with topside HPU and subsea umbilical.
