Mechanical HIPPS
It is a mechanical HIPPS system, with hydraulic or pneumatic pressure pilot sensors as initiators. The pressure sensors can be set to a maximum pressure, over which they close starting the fast shutdown process. Each final element (valve) has an actuator equipped with self-contained control panel with a customized hydraulic or pneumatic control logic that, after the closure of the pressure sensors (initiators), achieve the fast shutdown of the final elements usually in the range of 2÷3 seconds. Mechanical HIPPS systems are usually supplied skid-mounted as a package system ready to be installed on the pipeline.
