Conventional Wellhead

BS/BSHD

BS/BSHD wellheads are based upon a straight bore bowl with a 45° shoulder to support casing loads, with single casing string suspended in each spool.
Two configurations of Mandrel Casing Hanger and five Casing Slip Hanger can be installed in this type of Wellhead

WELLHEAD SPECIFICATION

Main features:

  • Flanged top and bottom connections.
  • Test Ports with buried check valve.
  • Studded Side Outlets with Valve Removal Plug thread or Line Pipe threaded outlets.
  • Top flange available with:
    • No Lock Down Screws;
    • Two Lock Down Screws, for Bore Protector retention;
    • Lock Down Screws for Casing Hanger / Pack-Off retention.
  • Housing bottom connections: Slip on Weld, Slip Lock, Threaded Connection.
  • Landing Base option, to transfer wellhead loads to Conductor Pipe or Cellar Floor.

Mandrel Casing Hanger

Two configuration of Mandrel Casing Hanger can be used.

BSHD-F fluted type Mandrel Casing Hanger, with separate annulus pack-off, has the following features:

  • An external left hand ACME thread for running/retrieving;
  • A box thread on bottom for casing suspension;
  • Milled slots for mud return during cement job;
  • An external profile suitable for the annulus Pack-Off;
  • All threads have an anti-galling surface treatment.

BS/BSHD solid Mandrel Casing Hanger, with integrated annulus seals, has the following features:

  • An external ACME thread for running/retrieving;
  • A box thread on bottom for casing suspension;
  • Two integral “TS” seals;
  • All threads have an anti-galling surface treatment.

Slip Casing Hanger

Five configurations of Slips Casing Hangers are available; the casing slip assembly is latched around the casing and lowered into the casing head after the cementing job.

BS: weight set slip-type, wrapped around casing hanger with an  automatic activated compression pack-off seal element.
BSM: slips with non-automatic pack off seal element. The pack-off seal element is activated by making –up the Activating Screws. It is used when casing weight is not sufficient to energize the slip hanger seal.
BSG: slip casing hanger which does not provide annulus seal. It is used with type “G” seal ring which provides annulus seal between casing and spool.
BSHD: is an automatic wrap around hanger where the annulus seal is energized by casing weight (high pressure application). Two set of slips hold the casing weight in order to prevent downward movements and collapse of the casing.
BST: combo slip casing hanger type. The annulus seal can be energized through the casing weight, or manually through the Activating Screws tightening

Secondary Seals

The following Secondary Seals to work on rough casing stub or on mandrel casing hanger top neck are available:

“GS” Seals: self-energized elastomeric seal elements reinforced by metallic anti-extrusion spring.
“P” Seals: elastomeric element with two anti-extrusion rings, externally energized by plastic packing.
“D” Metal Seal: metal seal composed by two metal seal rings which are radially expanded on the mandrel casing hanger neck or casing OD and on the spool counter bore during the flange make up.
